I thought it was terribly amazing except for the part where the cat with the broken spine dragged itself into the forest to die. Up until I read that I really didn't feel a connection with the essay. Even when I read that sentence the first time it didn't click but now I get the meaning of the whole essay. I can't really explain it to you in words because the essay touches everyone differently but the closest way is to say that it was about how love can cause pain. For example I believe the essay was optimistic because I love the cat but you sometimes need to let nature take its course in order to continue to love or I didn't know it was happening.It really made me think of the world around me and how much pain goes on to have love take its course.

Waste Land Documentary Response

The most memorable part of the Waste Land documentary for me was the people themselves. It was very memorable to see the people go from day to day to the Landfill to collect recycle. Also, they made so little I don't know if I would be able to do that and be proud about it. From this I will take away the feeling that no matter what job I have it could still be worse.

I think it felt great for the people in the movie to have their jobs turned into something much larger than just picking up recycle. It must have given them a sense of pride, a sense of accomplishment, and a sense of fame. It definitely helped the people want to get out of the Landfill and want to work harder to make more money so they can get out.

I think I would feel good if I was the subject of a film. It definitely would make me feel like I am making a change in the world and my community. Maybe the academic aspect of my life would lend me to that kind of art. If anything that is what I excel at.
